    MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of Wakarusa Elementary School

is to provide a safe and caring environment

for the total child

by incorporating individual learning styles,

discipline, and respect

while empowering each child

with life-long learning skills.

EMERGENCY SCHOOL CLOSINGS AND DELAYS:
If the weather looks like it might be necessary for school officials to delay or close the schools, please listen to local television stations: WNDU-TV or WSBT-TV or the following radio stations: WZOC(94.3FM), WRSW(100.1FM), WNSN(101.5FM), WAWC(103.5FM), WFRN(104.7FM) WSBT(960 AM), WTRC(1340AM)

Any and all announcements will be made on these stations as early as possible. If you do not hear an announcement, then you can expect school to begin at the regular time. PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE SCHOOL OFFICE TO VERIFY CLOSING INFORMATION.

In the event that the weather conditions become hazardous during the school day and school officials deem it necessary to close the schools early, please work out a plan with your child so he/she knows what to do under these conditions.
