The story for the week of August 30th is called Fighting the Fire, on pp. 74-77.

If your child does not meet his/her goal on a rocket math daily practice page, please help them finish the page at home. Then, have them retrace over the answers with a crayon or colored pencil. If they still are not meeting their goal by the 4th or 5th time of writing out the answers, I have been having my assistant take them out and letting them say the answers verbally. Each week I give them a 36 question timed test, and I will record their top 2 scores of the grading period in my gradebook.
