Our goal, as teachers, is to prepare your child for life-long learning by improving their reading and writing skills during their two years with us at Boonville Junior High School.

The Language Arts classes are designed to focus on implementing the development of the Indiana State Standards and providing a solid, fully developed instruction in reading comprehension and analysis, vocabulary, writing applications, grammar, and punctuation, as well as listening and speaking skills. This instruction provides the basis for valid and reliable yearly state assessment in the Language Arts area. Language classes will frequently utilize computer and technology skills. The Language Arts Department also works with the Reading Renaissance Program to encourage life-long reading.
