Book Adventure.   Book Adventure is a FREE reading motivation program for children in grades K-8.


Children's Literature Resource.   Links to online literature resources for teachers.


CIESE Collaborative Projects   CIESE, the Center for Innovation in Engineering and Science Education, was established in 1988 at Stevens Institute of Technology to help bring the Institute’s technology experience to the K-12 sector. They focus on projects that utilize realtime data available from the Internet, and collaborative projects that utilize the Internet's potential to reach peers and experts around the world.

Create a Graph   A great site to help students use technology to make simple graphs. Here you will find four different graphs and charts to consider and the online tools to create area, bar, line and pie graphs. There's also a link to how graphs can be used in probability.


Current Events for Kids   Contains links to current events' sites for kids, as well as other news links.


Cyberbee.   Curriculum ideas, research sites, web treasure hunts, and more for elementary students/teachers.


Daily Brain Boosters.   Find daily brain boosters from Discovery School to encourage thinking skills like categorization, lateral thinking, logic, number and math play, reasoning, spatial awareness, and word and letter play. Includes archive and answers.


E-Locker   Indiana Web Academy's web-based storage for teachers and students. Use this link to log in to your own e-locker or access classroom support materials in IWA training sessions.


E-Pals.   Contains the names and e-mail addresses of students looking for someone to write to.


Eduscapes.   Dr. Annette Lamb’s site for integrating technology. Includes Literature Ladders and new themes to explore each week.


Enchanted Learning   My favorite web resource for teachers in lower elementary classrooms. Includes a picture dictionary, craft ideas, and more resources than I've ever found in one place. You don't want to miss this one.


ESPN Sports Figures Teach Math & Physics   Popular sports figures are featured in math and physics activities and lesson plans for middle and high school students. Includes lesson plans and free curriculum materials.


Ethics 101: Cheating, Plagairism, Site Evaluation, Copyright & Your Students.   Great resource of information compiled for the Connected Classroom Conference, Seattle 2001 and updated in Fall 2002 by Patti Tjomsland, Media Specialist.


Evaluating Web Pages: A WebQuest   This unit is designed for 9th through 12th grade students to meet information and technology literacy standards across content areas. It may be adapted for use by younger students by selecting Web sites aimed at upper elementary or middle school students. In this lesson, students work in groups to carefully examine and evaluate Web sites relating to a particular topic.

Factmonster.   Online and interactive atlas, dictionary, encyclopedia and almanac.


FedStats   The gateway to statistics from over 100 U.S. Federal agencies. Searchable by state, city, etc.


FirstGov for Kids   This site was developed and is maintained by the Federal Citizen Information Center. It provides links to Federal kids' sites along with some of the best kids' sites from other organizations all grouped by subject.


Funschool.   Have fun with educational games with activities by grade level..


Good Night Stories.   A wonderful and fun site to help young students with writing and reading skills. Includes, Read-A-Story, See-A-Story, Finish-A-Story, Decide-A-Story, Hear-A-Story, and Send-A-Story. They will even publish stories your students write.


Google Image Search.   Simple tool to search the web for photos, graphics, clipart, etc. Use the power of Google to find any picture you need for student projects.


Graphic Organizers Activity Bank   Great examples of graphic organizers with pictures, from California Dept. of Ed.


Guide to Grammar and Writing.   The best site I've ever seen dealing with grammar and writing resources for the classroom teacher and student. Mainly for secondary and above. Don't miss the Power Point presentations that can be downloaded!


Handbook of Engaged Learning Projects.   These classroom projects were designed by K-12 teachers in 2001 to demonstrate engaged learning and effective use of technology. Sorted by grade level. Multiple subjects.


High School Hub   The High School Hub is a noncommercial learning portal to high-quality free online educational resources for high school students. It features interactive learning games, puzzles, and quizzes. It also includes subject guides for English, foreign languages, math, science, and social studies.


History Of...   A history teacher decided to see how many websites she could find that begin with the words "A History Of..." The result is a list of over 200 Web sites on a wide variety of topics. This site is well worth visiting as an exercise in discovering the fun of history.

Indiana's Inspire Database   The Indiana Virtual Library is a collection of commercial databases and other Internet resources that can be accessed using any computer with an Internet connection. You can access encyclopedias, magazines, biographies, newspapers, Spanish language titles, historical documents, almanacs, and much more.


Inspiration Indiana Standards Match (pdf).   Inspiration Software, Inc. has created the document to highlight meaningful ways in which Inspiration and Kidspiration support the Indiana State Standards. The files are in .pdf format.


Intel Examples for Teaching.   Tools, resources and programs to achieve targeted goals in math, science and technology.


Internet-based Lesson Plans.   Computer lesson plans for teachers. Comes from Australia..


Kathy Schrock’s Site.   Kathy Schrock's Guide for Educators is a categorized list of sites useful for enhancing curriculum and professional growth. It is updated often to include the best sites for teaching and learning.


Kids Hub   Kids Hub is a fun interactive learning center for elementary and middle school students. It includes educational games, puzzles, quizzes, spelling activities, and subject guides. Kids Hub is free, requires no registration, and contains no advertisements.


Kidspiration Activities - Oswego Schools   Great activities for the elementary curriculum.


Kidspiration Activities from Minnesota   This is a great site created by a school in Minnesota where the teachers made subject-area activities using Kidspiration. They are sorted by grade level, and they can be downloaded.


Learn Chemistry   This site serves as a free resource of chemistry for students. Available for all chemistry students seeking homework help is a variety of tutorials, quizzes, test and information to help with your chemistry learning needs.


Learning to Read.   The purpose of this web page is to improve the quality of reading instruction through the study of the reading process and teaching techniques. It will serve as a clearinghouse for the dissemination of reading research through conferences, journals and other publications. Click on the links to search for developments in literacy, professional materials, research and critical issues.

Lesson Plans that Use Technology   The lesson plans on this site integrate technology into the curriculum and were created by Charleston County (SC) teachers to be used for classroom instruction. Includes Word, Excel, Access, Publisher and PowerPoint lessons.


Mag's Word Finder   A great site for finding the smaller words within a large word or phrase.


MarcoPolo Internet Content for the Classroom.   The MarcoPolo program provides free, standards-based Internet content for the K-12 teacher, developed by content experts. Online resources include panel-reviewed links to top sites in many disciplines, professionally developed lesson plans, classroom activities, materials to help with daily classroom planning, and powerful search engines.


Math Games - Count Us In   Contains 15 interactive math games to help children understand basic math concepts.


Microsoft Design Gallery   Search, view and download free clipart, photos and clips for classroom use from Microsoft. Also works with Clip Gallery in Office software products.


Middle & High School Science Sites   Over 50 links to sites created by a teacher with interactive quizzes. Includes periodic table, planets, capitals, etc.


Multiflyer Multiplication Game/Drill   This link contains an interactive math game for students to practice multiplication in a space-related environment.


NETS for Students Lesson Plan Database   You can search this site for lesson plans that integrate technology and are aligned to national technology standards.


Online Collaborative Projects.   Find collaborative classroom projects for almost any subject and grade level..


Oreo Online Project.   Each year, oreos are used in a fun yet educational way to teach measurement, teamwork, technology skills, cause and effect, and more. Check out their other porject ideas under "Archives".


Paragraph Punch.   This web site takes users through the actual steps of writing a basic paragraph. Users develop an idea and write their own topic sentence, body, and a conclusion. The web site provides questions that help to guide users step by step through pre-writing, writing, organizing, editing, rewriting, and publishing. Completed paragraphs may be transferred to a word processing program, HTML editor, or e-mail application.


PE Central   A great site for health and physical education teachers, students and parents. Their goal is to provide the latest information about developmentally appropriate physical education programs for children and youth. Includes lesson plans.


PoetryTeachers.com.   The site provides ideas for poetry lessons, contests, and activities. It also links to Giggle Poetry (http://www.gigglepoetry.com/), a fun site for students reading, rating, and writing poems.


Puzzlemaker.   Free tool for making word search and other student puzzles. Site provided by Discovery School.

ReadWriteThink   ReadWriteThink, established in April of 2002, is a partnership between the International Reading Association (IRA), the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE), and the MarcoPolo Education Foundation.

Scope Systems.   A searchable site to find historic events and birth dates that occurred on a SELECTED day of the year.


Sears Portrait Studio Story Creations   Personalized stories are fun to create and read!This is a great place for you and your child/students to spend some time. Story Creations and personalized letters are customized with a child's name. Just choose a story and answer a few short questions. When you click on the "submit" button, your personalized Story Creation will appear on your screen, complete with illustrations. Don't forget to print out your Story Creation when you're done.


SimScience   A web site devoted to areas of science where computer simulations are at the forefront of discovery.


Starfall   The Starfall learn-to-read program was created to meet the needs of the emergent reader by incorporating rhyming games and high-interest books that teach phonemic awareness (sounds in words), phonics, decoding skills, and comprehension. The program is designed to instill confidence and enable the child to proceed as quickly as possible to a balanced reading program. Primarily designed for first grade, Starfall.com is also useful for pre-kindergarten, Kindergarten and second grade.


Student Treasures - Bookmaking   Studentreasures® is a great way to generate writing excitement among students because their efforts result in an actual 4-color, hardbound, professionally published book. There's no better way to motivate students. Not only will you receive free books, but you will also participate in a program that will help improve the writing skills of your students. This is a fun and creative way to apply what they have learned. You may even see improvement in your test scores.


SuperKids.   A collection of easy-to-use educational resources, for home and school.


Tampa Reads.   800 remedial reading & phonics worksheets, plus many other resources for reading.


Teacher Resources for Instructional Planning   Within this site you will find over 5,000 links to lesson plans and educational resources that support national, state (Alabama), and local standards for Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and Math in the K-12 curriculum.


Teaching Resources by Laura Candler   Over the years she has created a collection of blackline masters and activities for her classes. She shares those resources online with other teachers. Make sure you check out the File Cabinet.


The Flashcard Exchange.   FREE site to create your own flashcards or use already created online sets.


The Graphic Organizer   For teachers who wish to learn more about powerful strategies to employ Graphic Organizers in their teaching, this Web site is comprehensive.

The WebQuest Page at San Diego State Univ   A WebQuest is an inquiry-oriented activity in which most or all of the information used by learners is drawn from the Web. This site is designed to serve as a resource to those who are using the WebQuest model to teach with the web.


The Yuckiest Site on the Internet.   Interactive, engaged, science site designed for 6-8 graders. My favorite science site on the net! Select the Extra Slimy option to get started!


Three dimensions of Math   These pages on solid geometry collect together interative material on the Platonic solids, impossible objects and more... Includes excellent manipulatives.


Time & Temperature (Indiana)   Lists the current time and temperature in any Indiana city, and provides a great map of the time zones in Indiana.


Virtual Manipulatives for Interactive Math   Virtual activities divided by grade level and standards. Developed by Utah State University.


Web English Teacher.   The best site I've found for English teachers.


Webbing Into Literacy   This site features downloadable nursery rhymes and alphabet books, along with related lesson plans. It also includes a list of 101 great books for children. Based on Head Start resources from the Center for the Improvement of Early Reading Achievement.
