Teachers:

Mrs. Hope Martin:
I've been teaching in the WaNee school system since 1997. I've taught kindergarten all but one of those years and I really enjoy it. I love having the chance to see young children learn and grow throughout the kindergarten year! There is so much learning that goes on in these formative years and it is crucial that parents and teachers work together. Parents know their children best and can be the best resource I have in meeting their child's needs.

I graduated from Goshen College in 1996 and received my master's degree in elementary education from Indiana University. I am married to Tim Martin and we have two young daughters, Sidney (4 years) and Ava (2 years). We live in Nappanee and enjoy our community! We like to go on bike rides or take walks together. In my free time I enjoy reading and working on scrapbooks for my family. God has blessed us greatly and we appreciate all He has given us.

I always appreciate good communication with parents so if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please email me at hmartin@wanee.org. Thank you.

Mrs. Tammy Miller:
I am married to Myron Miller, and we have two boys, Jared, 14 and Joel, 11. We live in Goshen. My family and I are actively involved at Pleasant View Mennonite Church. I feel children are truly a gift from God.

I consider it a great honor to be your childss kindergarten teacher! I have taught in Wa-Nee Schools since 1989 and in Kindergarten since 1993. I graduated from Goshen College and also have my Master's Degree in Education. In 2004, I was trained in Reading Recovery. For three years, I helped first graders with reading and writing in the afternoons. Currently, I teach two sections of kindergarten. I continue to learn and grow to provide a better education for your child. Kindergartners are so much fun---they have great enthusiasm and are very loveable! It's a blessing for me to see them learn and grow so much from August to June.

As your child enters kindergarten, s/he is embarking on an exciting journey in education! Let's work together to create a team of adults that will love, support, care for, and educate your child on a daily basis. You were your child's first teacher and continue to be of great importance in your child's learning. Please take time to read to your child daily and talk/listen to him/her. Love and encouragement are wonderful gifts you can give to your child. Good communication between us will benefit your child and help me to be more effective. Formal conferences are held in November. But please feel free to contact me at any time to discuss any questions, concerns, or ideas you have. Prayer is powerful; please remember me and our class in your prayers. We both want your child to have a happy and productive year in kindergarten!

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to email me at tmiller@wanee.org.
