There were some wonderful, talented students auditioning for YG!

THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF MUSIC

I desire to see our students develop:

* A lifelong love and appreciation for music

* Pride in their individual talents and courage to let them shine

* An appreciation for music in different cultures and styles

* Performance behaviors that will be tools for success in future jobs and endeavors in their lives

Here are some of the key elements we have focused on these last couple weeks of music classes:

~ We worked hard to get ready for “National Anthem Day” by learning the history of the Star Spangled Banner, the song’s importance to us as Americans, the meaning of the words, and singing it with beautiful vocal production! The students really got into this and amazed me with their memory of the words and enthusiasm to sing it!

~ Music is all around us in our “Big- Green- Music Machine” (our world)

~ Songs that focus on “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle”

~ Recycle Rhythms- making musical instruments out of household products
