I am so excited about the new school year. We have a great group of children in our class!
We will begin ISTEP review on Monday, August 18th. This will be your child's first year of ISTEP testing. Test taking tips, as well as skill review will be stressed over the upcoming weeks.

We are also very fortunate to be a class that will be piloting a new math program. It will be based on investigative math and focus a great deal on problem solving. Student books will be here shortly and we will be diving right in!
In addition, we have a new reading series this year. We are very excited about the new stories and reading strategies that will be covered with this new book.

Remember to look for homework packets on Mondays. These will be due each Friday. In the next few weeks, we will also be implementing Spelling Contracts. These can be completed at home, but students will have SOME time in class to complete these as well.
Lastly, we are spending some time getting to know each other. The students seem to be making friends and becoming more comfortable in the classroom each day. This will be a GREAT year!
