HOMEWORK IS IMPORTANT
Homework is an important tool for reinforcing skills and concepts taught in the classroom. It also develops personal responsibility and helps lend structure to the daily routine. Every Monday through Thursday, students will have homework. You do not need to check for individual problems, but get into the habit of looking over the paper together to ensure it’s complete and neat, then make sure it gets back into the correct side of the folder. Have your child do this with you (don’t do it for him/her) to reinforce responsible habits. Homework sheets are ditributed each Monday, possibly Friday to get a head start, along with spelling and vocabulary lists. STUDY YOUR MATH FACTS: ADDITION AND SUBTRACTION
Homework will be due the following school day, prior to the start of morning work. Homework may consist of a spelling or reading assignment in addition to math facts practice and reading for 20 minutes each night. READ 20 MINUTES EACH NIGHT
Suggested work order: MONDAY: Spelling assignment in packet TUESDAY:Spelling assignment WEDNESDAY:Study spelling/Read story THURSDAY: Study spelling/Read story FRIDAY: Enjoy your weekend! Homework is subject to change as stated onthe homework sheet sent home each Monday. |
