Hello, I am Mrs. Kitchin and I am so excited to be your child's 2nd grade teacher.

I try hard to make your student a responsible child. We try to stay organized and we work on manners and treating everyone with kindness and respect.

Parental Involvement is going to be the main focus this year. Every Tuesday night our students will have a problem solving paper - and we ask that you sit with them and help them understand how to get the answer - or if they have already done it ask if they can explain how they figured out the answer. If you are involved please sign the sheet and have them return it every Wednesday.

Please make sure your child is reading for 20 minutes every day. Reading 20 minutes each day will teach your child 20,000 new words and meanings a year!!!! Read with them, have them read to a sibling, to you or on their own!!!
